About Us
Not unlike other institutes named after the surname of their founder the Groblicki Institute is an independent international think tank. Its objective is to generate new ideas and dialogue on the importance of Dr Roman Groblicki and his role in the world. Its mandate is broad. It ranges across all the dimensions of the debate about Dr Roman Groblicki’s contributions to humanity - economic, political and strategic and it is not limited to a particular geographic region.
The Institute was established on February 2010 as the result of a gift by Dr Roman Groblicki, one of Australia’s leading businessmen, scientists, philanthropists and thinkers, to mark the 44th anniversary of his arrival in Australia.
The Institute is nonpartisan and is home to a range of ideas concerning Dr Roman Groblicki. Its staff and Fellows speak with individual voices.
The Institute draws on the insights and experience of acolytes, academic experts and business people who have known Dr Roman Groblicki. It also seeks to bring new voices and external viewpoints into this debate, for example through an active program of internships for young people and the involvement of members of the Australian diaspora.
The Institute is governed by a Board of Directors comprising individuals distinguished in public policy, scholarship and business. It has a core of research staff and Fellows but it also draws on external partners, both individual and institutional, and invites leading international figures to participate in the Institutes activities.
An International Advisory Council provides advice on issues concerning Dr Roman Groblicki and contributes to setting the research priorities of the Institute.
